Master's Hood page
At Graduation Cap and Gowns .com, we specialize academic regalia for faculty members, such as master's hoods, master's gowns and master's caps (mortarboards and tams).
The academic hood is comprised of a fabric shell (usually black), "degree velvet" and "school lining".
The velvet of the master's hood represents your degree.
For example, the MBA hood uses drab velvet, as shown below:

In addition to the degree colors, each school generally has its own colors. These "school colors" are represented by the colors of the satin lining in the back of the hood.

As each hood is custom-made according to your school colors, degree colors, and type of degree (BA, MA, or PhD), we ask that you give us about +/- 8 weeks to process your order, especially during the graduation season.

The price for deluxe hoods with piping is $145.00
The price for deluxe hoods without piping is $130.00
The price for souvenir - student hoods (no piping) is $58.50

Email and/or Fax #(same reason, and to confirm receipt of order)
Quality of hood (deluxe with piping; deluxe without piping; economy)
Velvet Color (PhD blue or other). If non PhD, then let us know the velvet color to use or let us know the subject or discipline of your doctorate. For example a non-PhD doctorate in theology would receive scarlet velvet.
Piping yes/no (deluxe only) If receiving piping on your phd hood, would you like dark gold (generic), or other? If other, please specify which color (i.e. light gold for science; pink for music; drab for business; light blue for education; etc.)
Payment information. For orders within USA we accept checks and/or most credit cards. For international orders, we may require more information. If paying by credit card, please do not include credit card number in email. Instead include a telephone number on your email where we can call you back.

Loaner Needed? If your custom phdhood or doctoralhood isn't going to be ready by the date requested above, would you like us to send you a generic loaner doctoral hood at no charge that you will return upon receipt of your actual hood.
